I have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Biology and I am currently perusing a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I have also passed the first part of the GACE (reading, writing and math). I am a graduate of the Smart Start Early Education Substitute Training and have been trained in infant and child CPR.
I have worked as an after school teacher assisting students with classroom and homework assignments. This position enabled me to provide students with extra help in mastering basic skills and subject content, including both language arts and math. I have also worked as a 5th grade math teacher’s aid and volunteered as a catechist, teaching 3 years olds up to 1st grade.
Teaching is an art and each child is different. I like to use examples children can relate to in order to simulate and motivate their knowledge. I also try to encourage learning by asking questions and finding out what they like. That way I can find activities and lessons based on their interests, providing a more fun and exciting form of learning for your child.
