I graduated from Clemson University in December 2011. I majored in electrical engineering and currently work in the power industry. My love for math has grown since grade school which prompted me to take all of the math courses that I could in college. Before I transferred to Clemson, I attended Newberry College where I maintained a GPA above 3.0 and majored in Math and Computer Science. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of math with young minds in hopes that I can instill the same desire to learn.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

How to transform? (answer)

I'm assuming that the original function is x = √(y), is this correct? The only transformation is the multiplication by -1 giving the x = -√(y) equation. When multiplying by -1, you basically flip the graph about the axis that is not directly multiplied by the -1. It...
