I am a patient and knowledgeable tutor who specializes in scientific subjects, but am also proficient at tutoring other subjects such as English, Math, etc (see my Subjects tab for a list). I have a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, a M.S. in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, and a B.S. in Biology. In addition to education, I have more than 14 years of professional research experience working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, presenting my research abroad in foreign countries like U.K. and Germany, and 4 years of teaching experience as a student teacher in molecular techniques courses and problem based learning.
I believe that there are no bad students; instead, in most cases, there only needs to be an adjustment in how the student is taught, so that instruction is tailored to his/her learning needs to promote the student’s full understanding and grasp of knowledge. Also, it is important to discuss the applicability of a concept, rather than just the concept. A student is more prone to learn if they know why, when or how a concept is applied. My tutoring style is to create an environment where the student is encouraged to learn, ask questions and succeed. I would love the chance to be of assistance, so contact me and let’s unleash the tutee’s personal genius.
