I have a passion for teaching math. Even though I'm certified for middle school math, I have helped elementary, middle and high school students prepare for CRCTs and EOCT in a particular subject. I have observed students in a classroom environment and working one-and-one.

There has been incremental improvement with students taught individually. Each student has a different learning style. One size does not fit all. Therefore, the lessons are tailored to engage the student fully. Usually I'm a facilitator and the student is guided to discover what works best for him or her. We become creative.

Algebra 1

I have experience tutoring Algebra I. I help the students bring Algebra to life as they work on mastering basic math skills.

Algebra 2

I have several years' tutoring experience in Algebra 2. My students become confident in math once they master basic concepts (e.g., integer rules, factoring, perfect squares). We enhance the learning session with technology and creativity. I enjoy working with students on one-and-one because we can build relationships.
My goal is to have a well rounded student.

Geometry

I have guided students to investigate and master Geometry at middle school and high school levels. The students create an on-going math glossary which consists of geometric terms with diagrams depicting the particular concept. ADD/ADHD

I have taught ADD and ADHD students in an inclusion classroom environment. Also, I have experience working with middle and high school ADD/ADHD students individually.

Autism

I had the privilege of co-teaching math to an autistic middle school student. Then during the fall of 2012, I tutored a high school who has been diagnosed with autism. It was encouraging to observe and learn from their learning styles.
