Raised in Spain, I am the true definition of a Renaissance Man. I guess the modern definition of such person is a "geek." There are very few subjects I am not knowledgeable about. However, there are certain areas where I have experience.
Photography: Although I have loved photography from a very young age, my passion for photography grew exponentially since I picked my first SLR at the age of 14. Having taken numerous classes and workshops in photography my photography education has been extensive both in the classroom and hands-on. Classically trained in film (and wet darkroom), I switched to full digital in 2005. I was asked to shoot my first wedding in 2006, taught my first photography classes/workshops in 2008 and never stopped growing my passion for this art form. I started using Photoshop in 1996 (version 5!) and I have used Lightroom from its initial Beta version released by Adobe.
Science: I graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I did Medical Research for 6 years before deciding that wasn't the career path I wanted to go through. However, although my pursuit for growth in this field stopped in 2006 I am very knowledgeable in areas such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I can discuss in depth how the Krebs Cycle works many other terms that makes any student scratch their heads.
Computer wisdom: I started learning how to program computers at the age of 9 (I am not telling you how long ago that was but it was before most people even had dial-up internet connections). I didn't pursue computer science in college because I didn't want to take all the required Math classes (Organic Chemistry and Physics was enough!). However, you could see I am one with the Matrix and I have been the to-go resource by friends, family and employers when problems with computers arise.
Computer Software: With computer wisdom comes software wisdom. You cannot be a bigger geek than a geek who actually enjoys pushing the limits of any software like I do. I am considered an expert MS Word and Excel user and I can do some very fancy powerpoint presentations. I have taught workshops on setting up and developing MS Access databases and I am a vivid user of Microsoft Project.
Spanish: Well I grew up in Spain, and I love literature. Therefore I am really good at Spanish. I have tutored many people over the years and have developed very extensive lesson plans on every topic for students learning Spanish from very beginner to advanced topics.
My personal philosophy in regards to tutoring is relaxed, laid back, fun but educational. I break down subjects in easy to follow chunks and examples. I am not happy until the lightbulb turns on and the understands the explanations. I am passionate about all the subjects I tutor and my goals is not just to teach them, but to also pass that same passion to my students.
