I am a biochemist degree holder with extensive experience as a high school science teacher, math and science tutor. I have worked with students from all backgrounds, from low-performing to high-achieving, tapping into their strong suits and tailoring my lessons along those strengths so that they (the students) understand the subject matter better.
My experience as a classroom teacher and graduate student means that I set high expectations for myself and my students. I encourage and guide them towards meeting these expectations while teaching them value-added skills, like approaches to solving various problems, thinking beyond the question (critical thinking), that can be applied to other subjects.

My child was sure of her how to face the challenges of the ACT and SAT math but after one tutoring session with Gregory she could not wait to take the exams. According to my child: "Greg is showing me stuffs that I have not learnt in high school, if I had him as a math teacher in high school I would be a math geek". I wish we had found Gregory since elementary school because math is a difficult subject for most kids and a tutor as efficient as Gregory would give any child the confidence to be in love with math and science. He was the best tutor I think I've ever had. I enjoyed and appreciated his personalization and enthusiasm in teaching and researching certain chemistry lessons. He is very down to earth and relatable, and has excellent listening skills. I have experienced, as I think future pupils will, very productive and beneficial sessions with him. Also, I never felt rushed or looked down on during our sessions which is a very important aspect to learning in pupil-tutor situations. Chemistry is a strong-suit! I give Mr. Gregory a 4.5 out of 5. C. Gregory A. has proven to be a great Chemistry tutor for my 10th grade daughter. From the first session, he took time to understand her challenges and confusion and present the lessons in a clear and patient manner. He has not only provided additional practice work for extra review but has made himself available via email at all hours of the day & night to answer questions in between tutoring sessions. In order to make my daughter more confident in class, he has made the effort to work ahead in her textbook so she is more familiar and prepared for her in-class lessons. Gregory is outstanding at explaining material, but it is very difficult to contact him. Unfortunately, he is only available on Sunday so it doesn't really help. Very nice, but hard to contact after tutor session, but I would really still recommend him.

This was our first session with Greg and when we arrived he was already there and ready to start. He took time to understand what my daughter's needs were during our initial phone consultation, and was prepared to assist. He was very friendly and my daughter was immediately at ease with him. Students will calculate mathematical relationships based on gas behavior. Quantitatively and qualitatively, the student will describe the process of solutions and characteristics of solutions. Thermodynamic relationships will be investigated. Students will explore the factors that affect the rates of a reaction and apply them to the theory of dynamic equilibrium. They will predict changes in equilibrium based on LeChatelier’s principle, and apply them to 2 acid-base theory. Oxidation-reduction will be applied to real-life situations and energy interactions will be used to explain reaction spontaneity.
This course is designed to allow students the opportunity to investigate the composition of matter and its interactions. This includes basic properties of matter, the atomic theory, bonding, nomenclature, chemical reactions, solutions, basic acid /base theory, and the study of the periodic tendencies of the elements. Students will also investigate, discover and learn the properties of forces, motion, work & power, energy, heat and temperature, electricity, magnetism, sound and light.
