I subbed pre-kindergarten through high school for a year, and then taught from kindergarten through high school. Certified in Spanish, but have taught various subjects.
I've tutored since I've been in high school. Throughout my collegiate years and beyond, I've tutored relatively every subject. While teaching, I worked for a tutoring company for a couple of years, tutoring math and reading. Then I tutored practically every subject as an independent contractor.
I'm currently back in school for pre-med, so I am relating not just as a teacher but as a student. Plus, I am also getting to appreciate the rigors of math and science classes, which greatly help my math and science tutorees (for lack of a better word).
With respect to my teaching style, it's on an individual, case-by-case basis. I'll never forget how my calculus teacher in high school "tricked" me into believing I could get an A out of the class. Once I "realized" I could get an A, I got one. Whatever you believe, you can achieve. Sounds trite or corny, but it's true. I had a 3.81 science GPA last semester. Believe it, achieve it.
Check me out and let's make this happen for you!
