Greetings potential students!
Helping people learn is a passion of mine. My main subject areas are English/ESL and Japanese. As a language tutor, my goal is to give students confidence in listening, speaking, writing and understanding their target language. I have taught English to Japanese students in Japan, and I have experience tutoring American students in Japanese.
I believe learning should be both interactive and enjoyable, so I do not solely rely on textbooks and handouts when teaching. I like to use visual aids, games, and real-world examples to facilitate learning, making it a more relevant experience for the student. I love teaching, and I look forward to meeting you and helping you succeed!

Reading

I specialize in Adult Reading & Writing, for both native and non-native English speakers. I teach all levels, from absolute beginners to more advanced readers. I believe you are never too old to learn to read, and I would be honored to help you become a confident reader!

Japanese

I love teaching Japanese! I specialize in teaching beginner and low-intermediate levels, focusing on speaking and listening as well as reading and writing. If you've always wanted to learn Japanese, I encourage you to give it a try - and I'd be more than happy to teach you!

ESL/ESOL

I myself have studied several foreign languages throughout my academic career. Doing so has given me useful insight into the most effective methods of learning and teaching a second language. I have also had the opportunity to live in a foreign country (Japan), so I am quite aware of all the challenges that come with trying to communicate on a daily basis in a language different than your own.
