Dear Friends,

Hello! I am a native Japanese who has lived in the U.S. for almost 20 years. When I lived in Osaka, Japan, I helped native English speakers who taught English to Japanese high school students to learn Japanese. I have a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL) and am currently working on the PhD in the field of International Education. I worked with people with international background at a university in New York for a decade and have already enjoyed working with the special population. As a second language learner as well as a teacher, I have already felt that it is critical to use language in authentic and practical contexts, not just acquiring the knowledge such as grammar and vocabularies. Thus, I focus on honing the skills in conversations, communications, and negotiations skills, all of which help you use the language more effectively. I also believe that the role of a teacher/tutor is to facilitate learning that I use more interactive methods through dialogues and personalized lessons. I hope to share with you my expertise and experiences in teaching English as a second language (ESL) and Japanese, and I look forward to meeting with you in a near future.
