I am a former 8 year Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. I have had the opportunity to work with legendary Hall of Fame basketball coach Charles "Lefty" D. at Georgia State University. I have coached fourteen professional basketball players at 3 NCAA Division I programs (Georgia State, Georgia Southern and Tennessee Tech). I reached the 1999 NCAA Elite Eight semifinals as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at NCAA Division II power Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL.

I am currently the Managing Director for a basketball training group that works in north Fulton County in Roswell, Alpharetta and Johns Creek. We work with middle school and high school players all over metro Atlanta. We help players and families work towards realistic goals on and off of the floor.

I led the Georgia Pride AAU program where we have helped 22 players earn college basketball scholarships in the past six years. Our program also included NFL first round draft picks Demaryius T. of Dublin, GA and Charles J. of Hawkinsville, GA. I have also served as a consultant for two of America's largest AAU programs, Atlanta Celtics and Atlanta Express. The program is now called the Georgia Phoenix, which has competitive teams for boys from age 10 through 17 and girls ages 11 through 14.

As a college coach, I developed post players during my first three seasons as a coach. In my final five seasons, I coached guards and perimeter players. The diversity in my training with professional players, college and highly skilled college prospects along with working with younger boys (and girls) that simply wish to improve makes my background the logical choice in metropolitan Atlanta for developing the basketball skills within your son or daughter.

I highly encourage parents to evaluate the training techniques, which have proven to help hundreds of young players over the years. I believe it is important for parents to see how we work and develop young athletes. It will not be easy. Nonetheless, it will be an environment built upon accountability and encouragement. The focus will be built through the basics of the sport. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

Basketball is the second largest participatory sport on earth. The game was invited by Dr. James Naismith and continues to be a wonderful tool for learning personal accountability and developing positive team interactions that may be valuable throughout any person's life. Basketball requires an individual's ability to successfully execute the fundamentals of the game, which include ball-handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, boxing out, individual & team defensive principles and effectively communicating with teammates. Your child will gain a comprehensive understanding of how he or she should execute these basic principles to become a valuable member of his or her team. We create individual confidence based upon the foundational knowledge of the sport. We also encourage players to personally articulate these principles, which builds confidence on the floor and inevitably displays the value that a confident and verbal player will bring to his or her team. We want to create coaches on the floor that bring value in a myriad of areas of the game.

My experience includes eight years as a men's college basketball coach at Georgia State, NCAA Division II power Florida Southern College, Georgia Southern and Tennessee Tech. Following my college coaching career, I led a post-graduate preparatory school (Mount Olive Prep Academy) that became one of the nation's top programs. At Mt. Olive, we helped a number of players reach their objective of playing college basketball.

I currently serve as the Managing Director and Director of Player Development for Develop Elite. Our belief is that we develop elite players through building individual confidence by building thorough & comprehensive fundamentals of basketball. By building this fundamentally driven foundation, we help players become leaders on and off of the floor. We build coaches on the floor by enhancing each players understanding of the basic and fundamentals of the sport.

Career Development

I have served in management for just under a decade in corporate recruiting and search working for the largest financial services and accounting search firm in the world. I have participated with numerous resume writing projects for many universities, including University of Georgia, Georgia State University, Georgia Southern University, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Tennessee Tech University. I have also volunteered in similar resume writing capacities with the City of Atlanta and Atlanta Public Schools. I have worked within the local Atlanta job market as well as lead teams for multinational companies and firms. I currently serve as the Director for the Americas (North America and South America) in Financial Search for a multinational Dutch search firm (one of the largest in the world).

Fitness

I have served as a college basketball coach for eight years. My background required that I build and develop Individual training for college athletes at NCAA Division I institutions over the course of seven years. It was a combination of weight training as well as strength and conditioning. I used this experience as the coach of two different national teams (United Kingdom and Poland) as well as one of the most recognized post-graduate prep schools in America.

What a wonderful year. We have been positioned to help more than a dozen players. Most of these players have gone from being simply members of their own team to taking leadership roles on their team as scorers and "Coaches-on-the-floor." Two students, who live in north Fulton County's John's Creek are seeing the fruits of their hard work pay off within two months of Individual Training in Basketball. One student, a rising freshman at John's Creek HS was named Outstanding Young Player at his school's summer team camp. He has worked hard on his ball handling. His hard work has paid off as he finds it easy to create space to open... read more
