I am a former 8 year Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. I have had the opportunity to work with legendary Hall of Fame basketball coach Charles "Lefty" D. at Georgia State University. I have coached fourteen professional basketball players at 3 NCAA Division I programs (Georgia State, Georgia Southern and Tennessee Tech). I reached the 1999 NCAA Elite Eight semifinals as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at NCAA Division II power Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL.
I am currently the Managing Director for a basketball training group that works in north Fulton County in Roswell, Alpharetta and Johns Creek. We work with middle school and high school players all over metro Atlanta. We help players and families work towards realistic goals on and off of the floor.
I led the Georgia Pride AAU program where we have helped 22 players earn college basketball scholarships in the past six years. Our program also included NFL first round draft picks Demaryius T. of Dublin, GA and Charles J. of Hawkinsville, GA. I have also served as a consultant for two of America's largest AAU programs, Atlanta Celtics and Atlanta Express. The program is now called the Georgia Phoenix, which has competitive teams for boys from age 10 through 17 and girls ages 11 through 14.
As a college coach, I developed post players during my first three seasons as a coach. In my final five seasons, I coached guards and perimeter players. The diversity in my training with professional players, college and highly skilled college prospects along with working with younger boys (and girls) that simply wish to improve makes my background the logical choice in metropolitan Atlanta for developing the basketball skills within your son or daughter.
I highly encourage parents to evaluate the training techniques, which have proven to help hundreds of young players over the years. I believe it is important for parents to see how we work and develop young athletes. It will not be easy. Nonetheless, it will be an environment built upon accountability and encouragement. The focus will be built through the basics of the sport. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
