I have been working as a substitute teacher while attending college for almost five years. I am currently working on my Master's in special education. I have 3 classes left until I complete my Master's degree. I hold the belief that everyone can learn if given the proper tools to do so. I have homeschooled my youngest son; thus, I have experience outside of the classroom as well. My experience covers all major content areas. I am an avid reader, and it is one area in which I have always exceeded expectations. I can help you or your child learn to read through a detailed phonics program.

Elementary Math

I have always excelled at math, but choose to only tutor at the Elementary level. I have passed my Georgia state basic skills exam in this area. I currently hold a bachelor's degree in education, and will receive my Master's next month.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am Wyzant certified to teach reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. I am currently working on my Master's degree in special education.

Phonics

I have studied phonics in my college career. I have used FUNdamentals-Action Reading to teach pre-school and kindergarten-age children to read using this program.

Special Needs

I have five years' experience working with students who have a multitude of special needs such as physical, mental, or emotional needs. I have worked with children who have ADHD, Aspergers, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays. I am currently working on my Master's degree in special education.

Dyslexia

I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Special Education. I will complete my Master's program next month. This is also my fifth year as a substitute working with children who have special needs. I have studied dyslexia and have learned effective teaching strategies and interventions to work with students who have dyslexia.
