I have over five years of experience working directly with children and youth. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology. I firmly believe that it is essential to teach according to the student. There is not a one size fits all model for learning and/or teaching. I also have four years of experience working directly with children and teens with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. This experience has allowed me to truly understand that everyone learns differently. I have developed a passion for working with youth outside of the classroom to help them excel academically and socially. Over the years I have seen how academic performance is linked to self-esteem. I have yet to meet a challenge or situation that I could not help improve.
As a psychology major I studied different schools of psychology. Also, I conducted many research projects and became accustomed to writing research papers. Throughout undergraduate school I proofread many papers. Upon graduation four years ago I continued to proofread papers for students and began tutoring professionally. The areas that I tutor are psychology, reading, spelling, and elementary math. I minored in chemistry and biology. However, I do not tutor chemistry or biology.
