I would like to tell you a little about personal life. I am a mother of two children ages 21 and 19. My son attends the University of Georgia as a Junior and my daughter attends Reinhardt University as a freshman. I have been married to my husband for 23 years.
My professional life as a teacher did not start until I was in my late thirties. I currently hold a Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading, which I earned in April of 2011. I received my undergraduate degree from Mercer University in Early Childhood Education in 2007. I also hold a certificate in Special Education General Curriculum.
I have experience as a classroom teacher in fourth grade and second grade. I was unfortunately laid off at the end of the 2009/2010 school year due to budget cuts. I have taken my absence from the classroom to supply teach in third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade,EBD classroom, ESEP IRR small group classroom, Autism classroom, and ESOL classroom. Before receiving my teaching degree I was a paraprofessional for six years.
