I have worked with several students that were diagnosed with ADHD. When I taught at a private school, many students relied on our abilities to provide individual learning plans with extended time and resources. I patiently and respectfully teach students with ADHD in groups and one-on-one, telling them that they can work hard to achieve their goals. As a math Major with a Bachelors degree, I dealt in depth with many Discrete Math concepts. I became proficient in proofs with logic and set theory in my college level course on Logic. I tackled many discrete series in Calculus II and III, and in other classes I dealt with binary operations, relation and function analysis and composition, modular arithmetic, induction, and groups. Lastly, my two college-level Probability and Statistics courses and actuarial exam experience have helped me greatly grasp concepts of combinatorics and concepts modeled in Discrete Math courses.
I have worked in reading and math with children grades 2-5 in a structured after school program. I have been a runner for 12 years. I have been through the intense fitness and strength program, P90X, multiple times, and completed mountain bike races, and a triathlon event including kayaking.
