I have been studying Early Childhood Education at Berry College. I graduated in December with my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I have had field experience in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Third, and Fourth grade. I have a true passion for working with students and helping them to feel successful.

I have had experience working with English Language Learners as well as students with special needs. I have done previous reading tutoring at Berry College Elementary School. I enjoy making learning a very hands on and interactive experience in which children become facilitators of their own learning.

I completed my student teaching experience in fourth grade at Garden Lakes Elementary.

Reading

I absolutely love reading and I try to share my enthusiasm with my students as much as possible to hopefully light a spark in them. I enjoy reading aloud to students and encourage them to read on their own. I know great strategies to improve reading ability and fluency. I have a wide array of books that the child would also be able to use. Reading is the foundation for a successful education.

Spelling

I developed many spelling games during my student teaching experience that would also be beneficial in a tutoring session as well. I love teaching children skills to improve their spelling. Spelling is an integral part of being a great reader and writer.

Elementary Math

I think math is one of my strongest teaching points. I have worked with Pre-k, 3rd, and 4th grade students in math. I enjoy designing my own activities and making math as hands on as possible for the students.

Elementary Science

I took an elementary science class at Berry College. I also judged Science Fair at Berry College Elementary School as well as Armuchee Elementary School. During my student teaching I taught students two units about weather and the solar system.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am receiving my Bachelor of Science degree from Berry College in December. I will be certified to teach Pre-k through Sixth grade.
