I am a highly motivated teacher and tutor with an extensive background in Social Studies and English education supplemented by an expertise in SAT, ACT, and GED test prep. I hold a Master's degree in Social Studies education and English education from the University of Georgia and I am certified teacher. I am currently enrolled in graduate school at UGA pursuing my Ph.D. Further, I am on the grading committee for the Georgia High School Writing Test and I am an official grader of the essay portion of the SAT and ACT.
Right after graduating from UGA, I began tutoring for private families within their homes. With time, I began teaching SAT/ACT prep classes for groups of students at various locations. Due to my content knowledge and teaching techniques, I was able to consistently raise my student's SAT and ACT scores. Word spread quickly, and it wasn't long before I was tutoring over 40 hours a week! I currently teach and tutor international students at a private academy.
My teaching technique is always tailored to each student. All of my methods support student's intellectual, social, and personal development. I work to promote active student engagement accompanied by worthwhile learning in every tutoring session that I lead and I promote an environment where my student's feel comfortable to learn and ask questions. I am passionate about helping student's achieve educational success and I can guarantee results!
I have recently added the service of proofreading and editing essays, papers, etc. I will proofread and revise any writing. I charge for 1 hours worth of work to provide this service. Please refer to my hourly rate for the specific amount.
