I scored in the 98% of the Math ACT, and I graduated high school after taking AP/IB Calculus.
I scored in the 99th percentile in the ACT Science section, with a score of 35/36. I hold degrees in science, and I enjoy sharing knowledge on discovery, science, and medicine.
I hold a degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology.
In high school, I completed Gifted Chemistry, and at the college level, I completed a variety of Chemistry courses while a student at Vanderbilt University, including biochemistry and two semesters each of the following: General Chemistry with Lab and Organic Chemistry with Lab.
I hold a B.S. from a top-twenty ranked institution (Vanderbilt University), and while applying to college, I received acceptances or wait lists from numerous other competitive institutions, including WashU in St. Louis, UC Berkeley, GA Tech, and Emory. I believe I am well-informed on the challenges and approaches that work and do not work in the process of applying for college, and I would like to contribute to others to help them maximize their potential.
I held middle school transitional license certification for 4th-9th grade, and though this is not all of elementary school, I believe I have the patience and knowledge of pedagogy in reading, writing, math, science, and history to help students learn. I have taken classes in Developmental Psychology, and I have volunteered at an elementary school, teaching science labs. I enjoy using manipulatives, visual, auditory, and tactile methods to interact with and interest children, and I will similarly, always be looking for additional insight from other elementary teachers and resources.
I took the Middle School Subjects Praxis in 2011, and I earned an almost perfect score of 199/200. It was a test that made sense to me logically, and I believe I understand it well enough to help anyone succeed in it as well (in all areas).
I taught pre-algebra at a middle school in Memphis, Tennessee for one year. I used manipulatives and other creative methods to help students learn, and I was able to bring almost all students up at least one grade level on the TCAP Standardized State Testing.
I scored in the 98th percentile in mathematics on the SATs.
I scored in the 97th percentile in SAT writing.
Having had experiences both as a school teacher and student, I hold multiple perspectives on what content needs to be studied, and how content can be studied to maximize time and efficiency. I know of multiple methods of studying, including making charts, graphs, pictures, and diagrams, and I know to make use of a student's strengths to study. I know how to train students to look at the big picture, while also concentrating on necessary details.
