My name is Gulablhanum and I am currently in school, studying to get my degree in Special Education. I love children. In high school I took a Early Childhood Course through Maxwell School of Techonolgy. After graduating I started working at a daycare, Kids R Kids and I worked there for 1 year and 9 months(Feb. 14, 2011-Nov. 14, 2012. In that daycare I worked from age groups of 6 month-12 year olds. I also did some online training coruses when I was there. I am also certified in Cpr and First Aid. The training courses I took online were about nutrition, child abuse, amount of outdoor and indoor play needed and how to treat a child if they are sick and came to school. I also learned that if a child is being abused at home, what the signs are to find out if it is true.
While taking my Early Childhood course in Maxwell, I wrote lesson plans for the children I taught. In addition to that I wrote meal plans which then I cooked and learned the appropriate serving sizes needed for the children. I did many art activities with the children with materials that were safe such as a Thanksgiviing turkey hand book with pictures of the things the child said they were thankful for. I did story time with the chilren and took care of the pet turtle we had. At the end of the week, I worte block plans which had everything we did in the whole week including the materials required but the short form. For the activities, I made most of the materials such as the shapes for the fun matching and pattern game for the math section. I learned many things on my road to becoming a Special education Teacher.
