Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I graduated with my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a 4.0 GPA. I earned a Reading Endorsement through my specialized coursework. I have been a 1st grade teacher for 3 years and completed 2 years of student teaching in grades K-5 prior to this, during my undergraduate course work.

Through my Master's Degree Graduate Program, I was invited to become a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society and Kappa Delta Pi International Honors Society in Education.

Phonics

I have a Master's in Early Childhood Education where my coursework included phonics instruction. I am also trained in the Orton-Gillingham Phonics Program, which I teach in my 1st grade classroom. I am trained in grades K-5 and have worked in vertical teams across grade levels when we implemented this program into our school. I continue to further my education in phonics through the Orton-Gillingham books. I currently teach phonics in my 1st grade classroom using multi-sensory techniques.
