My name is Barri M. and I have been an instructor for over seven years in online and traditional University settings. I teach for five different universities across the country and hold a Biblical worldview. My father raised me with the idea to always have an education on which to fall back. In 1985, I earned a Master's of business administration. In 2003, I completed the requirements for a PhD in the field of Biblical studies. With hard work, you can earn any degree that you desire.

I am an example of one person whose life was changed with education. Education changes the direction of your life. Every sacrifice that you make (except for family), will be worth it when you attain your desired degree or field of study. It would be my humble honor to tutor you. I welcome your questions. Learning is a partnership between the student and the instructor. One day at a time, one page at a time -- if you do the work, you will achieve the success you desire.

A good tutor encourages the students to do what they do not want to do and to attain more than they could dream. Many people have the will to be a success, but few make the effort to be a success. May I tutor you?

Bible Studies

I earned my PhD in Biblical studies in 2003 and have been teaching this subject at the college level for approximately six years. In addition, I also have taught adult Bible studies and currently teach adult Sunday school classes at a local church here in Atlanta, Georgia.

Business

in 1985, I completed my Masters of Business administration with a concentration in General management. I have also taught many graduate and undergraduate level classes in the field of business. In addition, I have spent over 30 years in the field of sales and marketing.

Career Development

I have been coaching an individual in resume' preparation, job interviewing, etc. I also teach college classes in Business communications. Several of the chapters involve career search, resume' preparation and job interviewing skills.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught high school through college students. I do have great patience and realize that every student is different. I am schooled in English and realize that K-6 focuses most on writing excellence, grammar and reading.

ESL/ESOL

I have taught several international people how to speak better English. It is a joy to see them be able to communicate better in English. I realize how challenging it can be to not communicate, as I myself am learning a foreign language. One woman who takes lessons from me was promoted after four weeks of being with me! Another student got a job, after not working for seven years. I would love the opportunity to help you or your loved one speak better English.

Fitness

I have been an active fit individual for forty years. In 1993, I took up the sport of running. First I completed 10ks and then, in 1997, I completed the St George Marathon in St George , Utah. I have run one other marathon. (Marines Corps marathon) and several half marathons.
One does not attain fitness overnight; it takes discipline and consistent hard work. Is running and exercise your passion? It is mine.
I work out at least four times weekly and enjoy running, weather permitting.
If you need someone who can counsel you on training, what to eat, what to wear and what shoes to buy, I can help and tutor you.

Greek

I have completed my doctoral work and have a PhD in biblical studies. I did actually have to have a working knowledge of Greek in order to get my doctorate. My academic chair was one of my instructors and guided me through the process, as I have never had a Greek language class in my life. Biblical Greek is much different than conversational Greek, and I do have a working knowledge of Biblical Greek.

Hebrew

I am an author of three devotional books on the Hebrew names of God. I bring forth Hebrew into the Sunday school classroom as well every Sunday at Mount Paran Church of God.

Logic

I have been an instructor at Ashford University from 2006 through 2013, in the subject of informal logic. Informal logic include subjects such as deductive and inductive reasoning, fallacies and various arguments. I have taught at the college level there for seven years. I do understand the idiosyncrasies of logic. It came under the heading of Philosophy.

Marketing

in 1985, I completed my Masters of business administration with a concentration in general management. Marketing was one of the focused subjects. In addition, I have spent over 30 years in the field of sales and marketing.

Philosophy

Logic and philosophy are two very different and difficult subjects. I have taught both subjects at the college level. Although it takes a little bit of dedication, a student can master the basics of either of these subjects. I welcome the opportunity to help you.

Proofreading

As I have been a college educator for years, I am adept at spelling and proof-reading. Good grammar and paragraph construction make or break a good assignment. If a student needs to adhere to APA formats, I can give assistance in that area as well.

Public Speaking

I have been an adult Sunday school teacher at a church here in Atlanta for 10 years. I speak weekly to a group of 25 to 30 adults. In addition, I teach in a traditional face-to-face venue here in Atlanta at a local university. I have spoken at conferences, both nationally and internationally.
In addition, I have also been a volunteer for an organization that did Taping for the blind. That helped me tremendously as I needed to enunciate properly.

Reading

It is an honor to help people learn to read. I work with students from age 8 the senior adult. For the younger students, we work through a reading system. The young students have a book room and I work with them in their reading. As they complete a book, they can take a short quiz that determines reading comprehension. The reading plan is graduated so they can see their own accomplishments. This is a wonderful reward tool for the student. I have used this system for international students to improve their reading as well. Learning is always a two-way street between the instructor and the student. It is my joy to help students of all ages learn to read better.

Religion

For the past 10 years, I have been an Adult Sunday school teacher. In addition, I have completed and earned a PhD in biblical studies. Although I was raised in a Jewish home, I came to faith in Jesus in 1980. I bring that background into my teaching in a balanced approach.

SAT Reading

I have tutored students in the field of study skills and English, in regards to the SAT. I use the Best #1 rated source, The Official SAT Study Guide content for SAT preparation. In addition, I currently teach college students, and have been an English teacher. Preparation for the SAT is the best way for a student to know the expectations. By diligent preparation, the student should do well.

Social Studies

In the 21st-century, as a college instructor, I have taught Organizational governance, Health policy and Economic analysis as well as other classes that deal with the general topic of social studies. I have been a College instructor at the college level, both undergraduate and graduate levels, subjects have included business and leadership ethics. These classes deal with the issues of governmental policy, thus encompassing the broad range of Social studies within Federal and state policy.

Study Skills

I have a PhD. No one achieves a degree of this nature without major discipline within the field of study skills. I have worked with college students at all levels - undergraduate, graduate and doctoral. I am a good coach and know how to encourage students to achieve. My favorite coach was Tom Landry. He said the goal of a good coach is to make the team do what they do not want to do, to achieve more than they could dream. That is my goal as a teacher.

Writing

In addition to being a college instructor, both online and traditional face-to-face, I also am the author of three published books. In addition, I maintain a devotional blog, reaching almost 8000 subscribers. I welcome any opportunity to help you with your writing. I am well-versed with APA format and know that with a little bit of effort, you can excel in your writing skills.
