I decided to become a tutor when I realized that homework was ruining my relationship with my own son. Children respond better to other adult role models sometimes, and my skills can help you/your child be a successful student. I am a native Atlantan and am very familiar with both the public and private schools in the area. I attended Emory University, where my concentration was child psychology and received my Master's in Education from Georgia State University. I am a former teacher, school counselor, Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children, martial arts instructor and writer. I was working for two tutoring companies, but decided I needed to be in charge of my own schedule. I currently tutor a tenth grader that is home schooled in Broadcasting, Government, and Literature. My strengths are definitely language arts/literature/grammar, but I can also assist with basic Spanish, and any thing for elementary students. In addition, I have two sons of my own with learning disabilities, so I am very familiar with the frustrations of having children with special needs. If you are ready for someone else to take the burden off your hands as a parent, or you are a student that wants learning to be fun, I am your girl!
