My name is Aliza and I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education! I love working with children of all ages and watching them grow as individuals. Tutoring is one of the most rewarding jobs because not only do you get to work with children one-on-one but you get to see the evidence once they've succeeded! I currently teach 5th grade but have taught most grades in the past few years.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Autism

During my student teaching internship I worked one-on-one with an autistic 5th grader and found it very rewarding. I loved every minute of it. Not long after, I became a nanny for an autistic child in the 2nd grade and we did homework together every day. It's not always easy but you have to find what works for them. Having my degree in Elementary Education definitely helps because you learn about all the different types of learned and how differentiated instruction is so important. More recently, I was hired as a facilitator for an autistic child who is 5 years old. I was required to be at his preschool with him five days awake for the entire school day and help him with difficult tasks. He has sensory processing disorder so there was a lot of over stimulation that I needed to help him with.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am eligible to teach K - 6 in all subject areas and Language Arts and Social Studies for 7th and 8th grade.

Elementary Math

I have my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach all subject areas in K-6 and Language Arts and Social Studies in 6-8.

Hebrew

I am almost fluent in Hebrew. Both of my parents are Israeli and I went to a Hebrew Day School through eighth grade.

Social Studies

I am a certified GA elementary teacher. All subject areas K-6 and Social Studies and Reading for Middle school as well.

Special Needs

I have worked with autistic children and kids on the spectrum. I have spent a lot of time in the classroom with children who have special needs. I am very interested in pursuing this as my future career and would love the opportunity to tutor.
