Hello! My name is Guin and I have many years experience as a classroom teacher, a small group test preparation tutor, and as a one-on-one tutor. My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Education, and my Master's degree is in Technical and Professional Communication. I am currently tutoring a 3rd grade student for number sense and numeration remediation and acceleration, a 2nd grade student for reading fluency and comprehension, and a Kindergarten student for decoding and beginning reading skills.
As part of my tutoring curriculum I prefer to have 3 to 5 activities for each session, including games. This strategy keeps the student engaged and willing to participate. I do not prefer to repeat the same lesson that was taught in school(same topic, yes)because if that were effective for the student, tutoring would not be required. I am willing to assist with homework as needed, or with organizational skills to help with more effective completion of homework.
