I have taught maths for over twenty years, and the results remain excellent. Maths, being the queen of the sciences, is made concrete, answering the "how" and "why" questions with examples from the immediate environment of the learner. This encourages full time participation of the learner and awakens focus.
Varying teaching methods are used to demystify those abstract concepts that impede the understanding of mathematical concepts, by moving from simple to complex and from what the learner knows to the instructional objectives.
