Hello. My name is Tesia and I received my Bachelors Degree in Music(emphasis in violin) in 2003, and I teach beginning to advanced students. I have been playing the violin for 17 years. While finishing my bachelors degree, I was Concert mistress for one year and was selected to play in the string quartet . I also was selected to sing in Campus Choir and was the alto section leader for two years and sang three solos. When I teach vocal students, I teach them to become soloists. Not to sing in a choir. I am flexible with what they sing but it has to be challenging. I also completed one year of my Masters Degree in Education in 2004 and was awarded the "Outstanding Achievement Award". I was Concert mistress playing the violin with the UTC symphony. I have been teaching independently for 7 years now and I absolutely love teaching children. I have a passion in teaching music and it shows in my work ethic. I am very enthusiastic and patient yet I do stress the importance of practicing. That is why my students give me a practice record every week. I currently have two violin students who are playing in the GYSO symphony in Marietta, Ga and they are doing a wonderful job. I have been playing the piano for 22 years and I play for churches, weddings, banquets ect...my students focus on classical songs when they first start but I have taught all styles of music. But I stress technic. My level of teaching the piano is intermediate/advanced. Although I am flexible with the types of music my students play, I focus on classical songs. When we prepare for recitals we choose a song that is above their level so it challenges them. That is very important. Also the college courses that I took while finishing my bachelors included theory, sight singing, algebra and music history with a grade point average of 3.6. So I am qualified to tutor in those subjects. I look forward to teaching your child/adult in the future! Take care.
