Hello, my name is Woodrow W. I am a college student currently attending Georgia Perimeter College, majoring in Electrical Engineering. I previously attended Hampton University, before transferring back down to Georgia. I greatly enjoy studying Astronomy and Biology, and am also proficient in math ranging from elementary math to precalculus. However, I am not comfortable tutoring in trigonometry, geometry, or prealgebra.
In the first lesson, I approach each student with a hands-on lesson. During the lesson I closely observe and annotate any other niches or relevant observations. From their I can fine tune the following lessons to best assist the student. If the student is more of an audio or visual type of learner, I am not afraid to change my lesson plan completely. I also like to set goals with the student to reach in a certain amount of time. I find this necessary for staying on schedule. Finally, I enjoy using examples from videos and experiments. With permission from the student, I will use simple experiments to portray the lesson when necessary.
With younger children, my approach is slightly different. Instead of using experiments, I would bring in a poster board or similar type of visual. I am very patient and have a very low temper. I enjoy tutoring young children as much as I do any other age group.
