I am currently an interpreter in my local church and have been for the past five years. Prior to that, I interpreted in South Carolina for 15 years and Idaho for two years. I am currently a Special Education teacher on the middle school level. I enjoy doing what I do and enjoy seeing students grow and learn. I will be working on my master's in deaf education at Valdosta State University in the fall and taking my EIPA in June. I have a lot on my plate but am excited about pursuing this career. I am able to pursue it now because my children are moving on to college. They were my first priority and my reasoning for going into education. I continue to be in education now as it has become a passion of mine to see young people learn and grow.
My long term goal now includes interpreting in the school system and getting registered for the National Interpreter's Registry. I know I have a long way to go but am confident that I will succeed as I do not fail at anything. I look forward to working with anyone who is interested in learning sign language.
Thank you!
