I possess over eight years of experience in the graphic design world, specializing in the creation of logos and corporate identity packages, printed collateral, websites, and special event invitations. I have the expertise to coordinate all aspects of any project, from concept to photography to copywriting, web development and printing, using the latest tools and technology.
I've earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from American Inter-Continental University in Atlanta, and then went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts degree program in Media Design at Full Sail University in Winters Park, Florida.
Most schools and universities focus on conveying a large amount of information to their students. But for most people that is not enough to create genuine understanding and an ability to answer exam questions. That is why many students, regardless of their ability, seek to get extra help from a personal tutor.
As a tutor, I will create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in tackling exam questions. My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and homework to check understanding continually.
I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as design and essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphical elements. Where appropriate I set and mark work, giving students detailed feedback so that they can improve quickly.
For the past few years, I’ve taught over 50 students from a wide variety of backgrounds – mostly 11th grade to K-12 students. Subjects taught includes Mathematics and Photoshop. I’m currently an instructor at Bauder College, Atlanta, teaching graphic design and visual merchandising. I also teach Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
