My name is Taiwo. I am a recent student-athlete graduate from the University of Missouri, with a Bachelors degree in Health Science and a minor in Psychology. Through my hard work and dedication, I was able to graduate with an honors distinction (Magna Cum Laude). My plan is to eventually attend physical therapy school, after I complete my professional soccer career. I have taken a number of science courses such as biology, physics, and physiology. I have also taken a good amount of nutrition/ fitness courses, so I’m quite knowledgeable about these topics. I have a great love for math and have taken a great amount of courses in college, so I can teach the most basic math all the way to statistics. I have tutored a few college students, and I have been most successful by walking through the topics slowly in the beginning together, and gradually I will allow them to work on the problems on their own. I believe interaction is very important in enhancing one's learning, so at times I may teach the students, but I will also let them teach me what we discussed. I have a great deal of patience and truly enjoy helping others,so my goal is to be sure your child has a real grasp and understanding of what we go over.
Throughout my college years, I not only excelled as a student, but also as an athlete at a Division 1 soccer school. I am currently still planning on playing professional soccer, so I'm still constantly training. I am able to teach various skills, techniques that are important in improving as a soccer player. I am a very technical player, so I love to emphasize on teaching the proper technique. I have also helped with a number of soccer camps helping children develop their skills, so I have a bit of experience teaching others. A concept I find very useful in soccer is repetition, so I focus a good amount of time teaching a technique correctly over and over. I have a true passion for soccer, so it is something I enjoy teaching and the children usually have a great time! Before playing college soccer, I was a four sport athlete from middle school and throughout my high school. I competed in volleyball, soccer, track, and cross country. I have played volleyball for 7 years at a high level, so I’m still quite familiar with the techniques. I still play volleyball here and there, so I am still capable of helping you or your child with the basics, such as the correct form in passing, setting, etc. I am a very active individual, so if you may need help with other areas such as fitness or speed & agility, I am very open to helping out. I love to stay active, so it would be my pleasure to help you or your child reach your goals!
