I am an energetic, engaging and compassionate instructor with a wide range of real world language experience in addition to classroom teaching. I have several years of experience as a public relations writer, a TV host and producer and am a published author of several articles and one (and a half--pub date pending) books. I have taught adults ESL for eight years and middle school language arts and ESOL for seven years. I am skilled at forging relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds and am quite adept at using humor to put others at ease and to open the door to learning. These are some of the notes I received from my middle school students just today during teacher appreciation week--really! They made me weep and almost regret my decision to leave full-time classroom teaching to devote more time to writing and speaking--but only almost :-)

I just love teaching by performing and transforming.
