***MY SCHEDULE IS CURRENTLY FULL, I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT NEW STUDENTS AT THIS TIME***
Greetings! My name is Phaidra and I love math
! I have a BS in Architecture
and a MS in Civil Engineering
. My teaching experience includes working at a local community college, teaching elementary school math, high school math (Algebra
I & II), adult high school geometry
and substituting math classes for a local middle school. I also have experience tutoring adults and children one-on-one.
At this time, I mainly tutor online-virtually or in my home.
Many people that I tutor say I explain math so well that I should be a teacher. My approach to tutoring is that I create a very comfortable, stress-free, encouraging atmosphere so that my students focus more on learning than on what they don't know. I use math jargon but try to make sure the student not only understands what (s)he is doing, but why and how it relates to other topics they have learned. I think it is important for students to understand the interconnectedness of mathematical principles as well as the "method" behind solving problems instead of simply following a bunch of steps.
As for Spanish
, I lived in Spain for two years when I was a child, so that gave me a good foundation in the language
. I continued my studies in Spanish through college and have even taught high school Spanish I and II. I currently attend a Spanish speaking church where I am very active. Next year I will be the assistant church secretary, so you can see, my Spanish is very good. I can help you with composition, grammar
, conversation, pronunciation, reading
, etc. Quiero y puedo ayudarte! I want to, and can, help you!

7x + 2x + x = 180 (this equation represents that the largest angle is 7 times that of the smallest angle, and the second largest angle is twice the measure of the smallest. we set this equal to 180 because the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180)
The sign rules for multiplying and dividing integers are the same.
There are three scenarios:
If you are multiplying/dividing two positive integers, your answer will be
If you are multiplying/dividing two negative integers, your answer will be positive.
