I have loved math all my life and I took lots of it in school. I even attended math contests. Now I have the opportunity to help others with their math. I have been tutoring for about seven years and I really enjoy it. I work with students in middle school, high school and college level math. My daytime job is tutoring college students in math and electronics. I don't just give out the answers but I help the student with the methods to find the answers. I can help with algebra I & II, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, math I, II and III. Just send me an email if you have any questions. Jerome is not only extremely knowledgeable in the field of mathematics. He is able to target exactly what mistakes that my son was making. He also has a very patient, caring, and easy-going personality which helped my son feel comfortable. Before tutoring, my son had made only D's and F's in Accelerated Precalculus. He just took the midterm and made a 95! The highest grade in his class! Thank you Jerome!
Jerome has been an excellent tutor for my son. He relates well to my son and maximizes their time together. He has helped with difficult concepts, and we are seeing the results of his assistance.
We have been thrilled with the results since our student began tutoring with Jerome. We saw a tremendous jump in grades from the moment tutoring started. He is really able to explain complex, high level high school math. In addition, he is very easy to work with as our student has a very full schedule, and Jerome has been wonderful about accommodating the ever changing schedule. He is always on time and really knows how to help a frustrated high school student.
Thank you Mr. Jerome. We were really glad to have you as a tutor for our daughter during this year. Hope to see you soon. THANK YOU!
After only a three or four sessions with Jerome, my daughter's overall math grade has increased almost two full letter grades. He has truly been an asset to us and we would recommend him to anyone seeking a qualified and proficient math tutor. Thanks, Jerome!
Jerome T. has only tutored my son in 10th grade geometry only 2 times but already there is an improvement. Jerome T. is very thorough and explains step by step. My son says he is easy to understand and he definitely feels better about geometry.
I hope we can continue with Jerome T. especially after the holiday break. My son feels comfortable with him as he tutor and he is actually getting his questions answered.
Jerome T. is always on time and we are grateful that we've found him!
I wish he had more time other than Mondays. Jerome was a terrific tutor. He was very patient when teaching you. When he reviews something you don't understand, he goes through every step and clearly explains what he does. Thanks to him, I feel confident taking a 10th grade math class as a freshman. I appreciate his time for teaching me and I hope I have him some other time again.
The tutor Jerome has proved to be very helpful. My daughter likes his tutoring style not to mention he is timely and does a great job.
Jerome was on time, and ready to help. He had great ways of explaining the problems I didn't fully understand. I recommend his service to anyone.
This is my first time using a tutor for my son. Prior to taking Geometry his sophomore year in HS, he had been an A/B math student. This year has been a constant struggle. His average was a 68, and after changing his class, meeting with his teachers and having him stay after school for extra help, the grade wasn't budging. As a last resort, I decided to hire a tutor. We are now in to our 3rd session (2nd week) with Jerome, and I will say that my son's grade has gone from a 68 to a 76 already. I normally don't take time to write reviews; however, I felt compelled to let others know that Jerome is not in this for the money. Jerome is truly there to help your child gain a better understanding of math. He has stayed over a few minutes beyond the session to make sure my son is comfortable with the lesson, and that let's me know that he's sincerely there to help my child. If you and your child are frustrated and looking for the one-on-one help, Jerome is your guy!!!
P.S. He's ALWAYS on time =)
Understands my daughter's needs and helps her learn how to work the problems. Very pleased with the work he does with you. Will be calling him for the next school year.
My 17 year old daughter has been working with Jerome for several weeks now. He is very patient and calm and explains things in a way my daughter really understands. He has spent time going over math basics that she hasn't understood before and needed to move on. We highly recommend him!
My son is a senior and is struggling with trigonometry. He has only had 3 sessions with Jerome and made a 90 on his last test. Jerome is very patient and has great insight into exactly what areas of the course need further explanation. We are so pleased but just regretful that we did find Jerome sooner!
We asked Jerome to help our son with 8th Grade Algebra. Jerome was able to identify some key areas that our son needed some extra help and focus. They worked through the issues, giving our son more confidence to do the work.
Highly recommend this Tutor. My son went from struggling in Math to an 'A' student in about a month! Will not hesitate to call Mr T should my son's Math grade drop from an 'A'. Thank you so much Mr T.
Jerome is a great tutor. My kids love the way he helps them. He makes sure that they understands the work that he is going over with them. I would recommend Jerome to anyone that needs help with math because he he knows his stuff.
Mr T has been tutoring my son, an 8th grade student for almost two years. Mr T first started when my son was struggling in 6th Grade Accelerated Math. I thought my son would have to be dropped down to a standard math course. However, Mr T completely turned my son grades around in 6th grade. In 7th grade my son continued to work with Mr T on a weekly bases where my son continued to excel in 7th grade accelerated math with As and Bs. My son is now in 8th Grade advanced accelerated gifted algebra and is off to a great start. Math is now his favorite subject. I will continue to have Mr T tutor him on a weekly bases to reinforce what he is learning at school at an accelerated pace. In addition, my son always looks forward to seeing Mr T every Wednesday evening.
Jerome has helped our son with several different math subjects and we find him to be very patient while working with him. He is very personable and friendly gentleman.
Our son has been working with Jerome for six months, and his knowledge level and confidence have really increased. He was hesitant about having a tutor, but from the very first session he felt comfortable, and Jerome's approach quickly won him over. As parents, we appreciate hearing the interaction and discussion between them during each session and the convenience of having Jerome come to our home.
Jerome trained me to organize Windows and to be more productive with Photoshop. I now have the skills to retouch my old black and white photos. This was done in minimum amount of time.
Jerome has been very patient with my son and has helped him leaps and bounds. Jerome has taken the time to identify his weakness and strengths and helps to move him in the right direction. Jerome has been a great asset to my son's learning experience.
My daughter needed some help with Geometry and spent ten hours working with Mr. Trent. She appreciated his patience. He was easy going and after getting to know each other during the first session, she felt very comfortable with him. She said he broke it down and laid it out in a way that gave her greater understanding of the material. She thanked me for finding him and said she definitely wants me to call on him if she has trouble with math in the future.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra has always been my favorite math subject. When I was in high school I went to statewide math contests for two years and placed in the top ten both times. This algebra deals mostly with linear functions.
Algebra 2 is a more advanced, more complex version of algebra 1. Here we get more involved with non-linear functions as well as imaginary and complex numbers. As an engineer and as a college level tutor, I have worked with algebra 2 type functions and problems for many years.
Geometry is all about shapes and most of these shapes can be broken down into triangles. "Triangles are your friend", I tell my students. Learn everything you can about triangles and it will be very helpful to you. When I was in high school I went to statewide math contests of algebra and geometry for two years and placed in the top ten both times.
I have been working with spreadsheets for more than 20 years. Over the years, and still today, I have developed many spreadsheets with multiple complex formulas for business and personal use.
I am qualified to tutor the math portion of the Praxis, or in Georgia the GACE. I have taken and passed the PRAXIS for math. I have also been tutoring math for about 7 years now, for students from the 4th grade to college level. I have, in fact, tutored adults aspiring to become teachers, for the PRAXIS exam. I did this tutoring through a different tutoring company.
Three major items that qualify me: I have passed the PRAXIS exam myself, I have tutored math for about 7 years, and my career was in broadcast engineering where I studied and used lots of math.
I work with many college level students at my full time job on precalculus who did not understand it in high school. I show them how to convert between degrees and radians, how to find various trig and inverse trig functions and how to relate their studies to the real world.
Since I have been working with college level trig students for several years, I have a rich, deep understanding of the subject. Much of my engineering background involved trig also.
