Hello, my name is Larry. I've been teaching now going into my 6th year as a 5th and 6th grade Math Teacher. I'm certified to teach grades 4-8 mathematics. For the past 2 years I've had over 90% of my students meet or exceed on the CRCT. I base my teaching method on building a strong foundation on the fundamentals of math and work from there. I would expect each student to take a diagnostic exam to determine exactly what they struggle with and that will be our starting point and we'll base any growth from that point. I'm a very structured individual and would like to use our time wisely. I may not be very talkative but I believe in results.

Prealgebra

Using a students elementary foundation and number sense to begin to learn and apply algebraic concepts of pattern recognition and the use of and solving for variables and unknowns.

Elementary Math

Building a foundation in multiplication and division as well building a strong number sense. Developing the ability to work with fractions, decimals and percents and understanding that the 3 are interchangeable as well as being introduced to algebra and measurement.
