"Engaging, knowledgeable and very responsive."

Thank you Stacy. I am humbled by your kind words. Your feedback validates my belief that the Socratic method is best. Socrates did not teach; he simply asked questions that stimulated thought, response and discussion. Nothing teaches French as well as a repetitive conversation in French. Engaging a student and immersing his mind as much as possible into the new language goes a long way to encourage the student to begin to think in the new language. Furthermore, I have found throughout my own life that the very best way to learn anything - short of the baptism-by-fire method which would be to drop him somewhere in France with nothing more than his own devices - is by regular incremental units, repetition and review before moving on to the next lesson. Lastly I try to encourage students to regularly teach what they have learned to somebody else. This creates a sense of responsibility and a give-back effect that cement knowledge in the mind and firmly root principles in the subconscious.
