I've been a tutor for the past 5 years. There is a sense of self-gratification each time I can help a student to make major academic achievements. I'm extremely patient. I won't rest until my students understand a subject.
While getting my degree in civil engineering at Georgia Tech, I worked most of the time as a tutor for the Office of Minority Educational Development. I helped my fellow classmates with previous engineering courses that I took including mechanics of materials, statics, and structural analysis. However, my biggest joy usually came from helping freshmen with their calculus homework. Most of my students achieved at least a B in any course that I tutored. I'm so happy with tutoring; after graduation, I turned down engineering jobs to get a Master of Art in Teaching Physics degree.
