As an adult, student, or parent, it is common to experience a lack of math confidence. This common problem many times gets blown out of proportion and can sometimes be a roadblock to success in school. I am a high school teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience. I have taught courses ranging from Algebra-1 up to AP Statistics and AP Calculus.
Teaching math is my passion, and my time as a teacher has been a fulfilling experience. My objective in teaching and tutoring is to help students overcome math anxiety. Once students understand the "why" rather than just the "how," math can be fun and easy. The greatest satisfaction that I experience in tutoring students that are having difficulty in math is to see the expressions on their faces as “the light goes on” and they prove to themselves that they have the ability to do well in math.
