My love of the Spanish language and culture began in the 1980s. I studied Spanish both in college and beyond for the enjoyment of learning to speak it. I found that using Spanish opened up a world of great opportunities for me: travel, careers, friendships, food, music, and many others. I have a Georgia teaching certificate and five years of experience teaching Spanish in public and private schools. My family and I lived in Honduras, Central America for a year and a half doing mission work, and we make return trips most years to visit family and friends there. I have been proficiently speaking, reading, and writing Spanish for over twenty-five years. It is always a joy for me to see students acquire the language and succeed in Spanish!
I specialize in tutoring Spanish at levels 1, 2, and 3 for success in school and practical use in daily life. I tutor students starting from where they are academically and coordinate the objectives of the tutoring sessions with their own Spanish classes. I also use practical exercises, challenges, and reviews to help students achieve without being overwhelmed. My tutoring sessions are fun and interactive! The students I tutor are expected to study and practice Spanish, without which there will be little success. Each session ends with an assessment of what the student has accomplished and needs to study and practice further.
I often ask for and encourage feedback concerning my tutoring so that both the student and the parents are completely satisfied. While I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I try to be flexible with time and schedule make-up sessions.
I offer tutoring in either a public location (e.g., a public library) or the student's home if that is more convenient for the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to succeed in your studies and acquisition of Spanish!
