Hello, my name is Katherine. I am currently a Sophomore at Reinhardt University majoring in Music Education with a focus in oboe.

I am a warm, caring, and engaging person that loves to teach. I have played the oboe for seven years and have taught privately for two. I welcome all levels of oboists. I also make reeds and do adjustments.

Reading

I am and have always been an avid reader. I have the ability to analyze a passage and fully understand the point.

Music Theory

I have taken two semesters of Music Theory, and am about to enter my third. Being that I am a Music Education Major in college it is very important that I understand the "inner-workings" of music and I do. Music theory is very interesting to me and it is a class I have done well in academically.

Literature

Literature was always my favorite subject in school. I am an avid reader, and I love all types of literature. I love to analyze literature and identify the motifs, symbols, and meanings of the works.
My Senior year in high school I took AP Literature and made a 4 (5 being the best) and was exempt out of one college English class.

Flute

I have five years experience playing the flute. The ensembles I participated in were the Cedartown High School Symphonic Band and The Cedartown High School Marching Band. I was the Flute Section Leader for three years in my marching band, where I lead sectionals, advised other flautists and taught flute techniques when needed. In symphonic band I was first chair flautist. I taught private lessons for one year.

Oboe

I have played the oboe for seven years. I have played in several ensembles, including the Oak Hill Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Georgia Winds, Cedartown High School Symphonic Band, Reinhardt University Wind Ensemble, Reinhardt University Orchestra, and many chamber groups as well.
