I have taught grades K-5 in all subjects. Grammar is an important part of Writing. I teach using subjects, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs properly. I use writing to increase the use of proper grammar.

Reading

I have worked with students on improving reading fluency by daily practicing fluency passages. I review with students the dolch words to help in their fluency. I work with reading skills such as comprehension, context clues, antonyms and synonyms, and many more.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been an elementary teacher for 14 years and have taught grades k, 2, 3, 4,and 5th.

Phonics

I have taught K-5th elementary for 14 years. I have taught beginning phonics with research based activities. I have uses reading fluency passages and the dolch sight words for teaching phonics and reading.

Study Skills

I have taught elementary schools for 14 years. An important part of doing well in school is using study skills. The student needs to use their agenda to write homework assignments, make outlines from their reading, and take good class notes. There are steps in studying for a test that everyone should know. Study skills are an important part of doing well in school.

Drawing

I had taught classes in Drawing and Painting. I have taught in classroom, small groups, and individual settings. I place an emphasis on line, shading, and composition. Drawing is a creative outlet and can lead to many careers.
