My exuberance for teaching comes from a great love and passion for aiding students who need assistance in their educational journey. I am a new graduate with a Bachelor's in English
Education from Olivet Nazarene University. Throughout my four years at this university I participated in three years of Marching Band, Pep Band, and Band Winter Showcase. I was a section leader of 8 alto saxophonists my junior year of college.
I feel as though I am unconventional when it comes to tutoring, I love to establish a personal connection with my students and make them feel secure in the curriculum I am teaching. I feel as though the manner in which the information is taught makes it more valuable and sustainable for the student. I greatly enjoy meeting new people as well as aiding them in their educational journey, in whatever manner possible. I like to provide lessons that keep the student challenged and learning, yet not in a manner that the student feels overwhelmed by. I take time to explain details thoroughly and ask many questions to gauge a student's understanding.
I hold myself to a high standard, For that reason, I often ask for feedback, and I never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not satisfied with my tutoring. I have tutored students after school in language
arts and writing
in middle school grades, and I have also tutored a student in general third grade
studies. I have helped various after school programs and have even met with fellow students to help give (not to mention gain!) more insight on a topic. I am exuberant and fun-loving with have a true heart for teaching. I would be very willing to meet with students in their own home or in a comfortable and quiet public place. I try to be flexible with time. While I do have a five-hour cancellation notice, I offer make up lessons.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
