I am a professional male with a strong background in the Sciences. I completed Undergraduate School at Huntingdon College, a small Liberal Arts College. I graduated with a BA in Biology, Pre-med Major. I then entered a Teacher Certification Program at Mercer University. I was accepted to Medical School while attending Mercer. While in my third of Med. School I began tutoring in a home-school program back in 2000-2001. I later started working for a private tutoring service from 2001-2005. In Residency training, my tutoring experience switched to teaching medical students. Since then I have tutored high school, college, and nursing students. I also specialize in ACT, SAT and ASVAB preparations focusing on algebra, chemistry, biology, NCLEX, ASVAB, ACT, SAT and study skills.
My method of tutoring is based on determining where the student is, his or her learning style and strengths and weaknesses. I then try various methods in helping them develop problem solving as well as study skills. I teach the subject matter relying on constant feedback in order to tailor my tutoring style to suit the student's learning needs. I believe in making the sessions fun and using real world examples to bring difficult math and science concepts to life.
My ultimate goal is to let students see that algebra, biology and chemistry can be fun. I look forward to putting a smile on the face of that student and to ease his, or her stress as well as build their self-confidence. I believe that learning can be fun if you see it as an opportunity to analyze and reason things out.
