Hello, I am Chelsea. I will be joining the ranks of Georgia State University alumni this summer of 2013. I majored in Sociology and will be pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development in January of 2014. I am efficient in the areas of grammar, vocabulary, basic voice instruction, etc. I have served as a mentor for over four years within my community including my church. Also, in addition to academic tutoring, I have taught and facilitated bible study lessons. I have an ongoing passion for seeking and sharing knowledge.
I have had the privilege to work with a great number of students during my lifetime. During my junior and senior year of high school, I served as a mentor through the Hi-Teen Mentoring Program of Fayette County. I was able to tutor elementary students in various subjects such as:reading, science, math, grammar and literature. During my undergraduate career, I served as a mentor and tutor for students K-12 in various subjects ranging from language arts to algebra. Serving as a mentor has also allowed me to create bonds with students which creates a more conducive environment for learning. I also took six years of Spanish including a year of Spanish on the collegiate level, so I am eligible to provide basic/comprehensive Spanish tutoring. Also, I served as the youth lead/liaison within my church; that responsibility required me to facilitate biblical lessons and so forth. Lastly, I am the praise and worship leader at my church, and a part of my job is to teach voice parts; therefore, I am efficient in that particular area as well. So, I am a well-rounded individual that enjoys reaching and empowering others from my knowledge.
