I am available for tutoring or after school work sessions in the areas of math and science for 3rd thru 8th grades.
Originally from North Carolina, I have a 14 year background in the field of civil engineering with a academic concentration in construction and transportation. Mathematics and science have been an integral part of my educational background and career experience as a civil engineer. Therefore, because I have had a desire to teach for many years, I am currently a Title I certified paraprofessional, seeking a T-5 teacher certification with a Master's degree in Early Childhood.
Although vastly different from the classroom, my ten year background as a volunteer youth athletic coach has allowed me to better understand the need for children to have a devoted educator and positive mentor who can provide them with the knowledge, self-esteem and confidence necessary to pursue their personal dreams and desires, and become outstanding and world-changing students and citizens in their community. It is my goal as a to provide, for my students, a rigorous yet fun and structured learning environment to facilitate their growth and development.
