I am in the process of retiring and decided that I would like a fun and rewarding part-time job. I came across the tutoring information and decided that this was for me; so here I am about to embark on a new phase of education.
I already teach 2 nights/per week at a private college (Microsoft Office Suite) so this will be an addition to my teaching experience.
I love teaching, I enjoy the rewards of teaching and seeing my students begin to love MS Office as much as I do. When that happens, I feel as though I am making a huge difference in their lives. I also love younger children - their enthusiasm inspires me and I feel I have contributed to their learning experience in a positive way.
I believe I am a good instructor (all my end of quarter evaluations support that); and I am very excited about starting an additional area of teaching. I believe the one-on-one tutoring experience will enhance my enjoyment and fulfillment of my teaching experience.
Thank you, and I am very excited and optomistic about the outcome of tutoring a younger age group.
I have been cooking since high school home economics, I love cooking from scratch and I taught both daughters how to cook. At one time, I had an entire file cabinet drawer full of recipes, sorted by type (casserole, dessert, breads, meats, vegetables, etc) and I rarely repeated any recipe more than once every 2 or 3 months.
I made high grades in English/grammar all the way through school and I believe I can help others who need some extra help in this subject.
I have had jobs in which I was in charge of curriculum development and proof-reading; grammar was a major part of these jobs.
I enjoy helping others learn and I have a great deal of patience with students. I currently teach two nights per week at a private college so I am very experienced in teaching others.
I have been approved for tutoring reading skills on my WyzAnt profile page. I passed the online test for this skill. I look forward to working with students who need help in this area.
I have been involved in bible study for most of my life. I've been involved (beginning 4 years ago)in an in-depth bible study - Bible Study Fellowship, which is a very in-depth study of the Bible.
While I have not been through a formal study of the entire Bible, I can certainly tutor basic to intermediate studies based on my experience and personal Bible study.
I learned to sew from my mother, took sewing in Home Ec. in high school, made all of my daughters' clothes when they were young; and as teenagers I made all of their prom dresses, as well as all new dresses for special occasions.
I made 6 bridesmaids' dresses (long formal dresses) for my older daughter's wedding.
