I have almost a decade of teaching experience. During this time, I have had the great pleasure of working with students as young as three up to the age of eighteen. I have worked in public, charter and private schools and with students of various socioeconomic backgrounds. Learning is a continuous process that I understand is lifelong. It is this point of departure that I engage my students as well as my personal studies. Analysis, critical thinking and objectivity are skills that I stress developing. Although I am very interested in the practice of drawing, painting and design, I have found that the core skills that I continue to develop in this particular subject area involves the cultivation of critical analysis, conceptual thinking, sensitive observation and objectivity. These skills can and are applied in all subjects such as mathematics, science, law, writing and medicine.
During the past four and a half years in New York, I worked in prestigious private schools teaching, art, physical education, math, writing and history. I also studied with some of the top professionals in drawing, painting, anatomy and design. My studies included in depth lab observation of human cadavers, investigation of light theory, painting theory as well as art history. It is this excellence and variety of education that has given me a well rounded education. I look forward to sharing what I have learned and continue to discover.
