I am friendly and down to earth, and I love teaching others. I'm pretty enthusiastic about education! I am currently enrolling in the PhD program for School Psychology to further my level in the education field. I have tutored for over 5 years, and I hold a SES certification in tutoring as well. Much of my employment and volunteer history is with children; therefore I am CPR/First Aid certified and background checked. But I can provide all of this documentation when needed.
What differentiates me from other tutors is my ability to teach subjects in a way that is very easy to understand and pick up, in combination with my warm personality. I know great effective studying and remembering techniques. I hold my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a concentration in Spanish and Education. And I just obtained my Master's degree the following year in the field of Gerontology. I plan on obtaining my teaching certification later this year. I also have a background in theatre, as I received my diploma in Drama Performing Arts with a focus in International Studies. I have produced a few productions and have held workshops with children. Aside from having this background, I also specialized in math, reading, language arts, and science with tutoring.
One of my greatest specialties is assistance with school Science Projects and college/scholarship assistance. I know quite a few things that could be effective for just about anyone. I was raised by my grandparents in a low-income part of the city and went to a private college on a full ride because of my leadership in my community and great academics.
I am flexible with scheduling, as long as I am given enough notice of the change. I check my email and phone calls frequently, so contacting me is normally not an issue.
