I have been a tutor for many students who have gone on to have great academic success. I have also spent time in the public school system as a substitute teacher to see if teaching in a class room was a good fit for me. I learned I enjoy the ability to focus on one student at a time, so tutoring is a logical choice for me--and a passion.
My methods vary for each student. However, one constant is that I am patient with all students. I also prefer a style that is more likely to encourage independent study and achievement. My main goal in tutoring students is to make education relevant and interesting for them.
I have worked with people of all ages over the years. What I have learned is that each person has their own particular strength in the way they learn. Some are visual learners (they learn by seeing), some are auditory learners (they learn by hearing), and some are kinesthetic/tactile learners (they learn by doing and experiencing). It also depends a great deal on the subject matter. So I always take these elements into consideration when I am with a student.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia in Comparative Literature, a multi-cultural study of literature and philosophy. I graduated with Honors from UGA with a 3.5 GPA.
I worked as a Photographer, Publicist, and Acting Instructor for a Talent Agency here in Atlanta, and I have taken many classes for stage acting as well as on film acting.
As I said earlier, I am passionate about education. Whether this would be for you or someone you know, I will honor my agreement to provide top notch tutoring.
