I graduated with a 3.86 gpa in religious education from a doctrinally sound seminary. I assisted students in my religion classes by teaching them with test taking skills. I was inducted into the 2006 Who's Who of Students in Colleges & Universities. I have served as a Minister of Christian Education and I have a lot of biblical knowledge. I have 10 years of ministerial experience.
I served as a tutor at a grouphome for children. I have helped increase the reading score of my nieces and nephews that I tutored. I was trained to tutor by the same faculty that trained the Atlanta Public School system teachers. I was trained the same methods that teachers were trained which proved to be very successful. The curriculum that I have used to tutor is Success For All. I also served as a teacher assistant in a first grade classroom and as a tutor onsite at an elementary school for students in grades that ranged from 2nd to 5th. I tutored students whose reading scores were ranked at the bottom of their class until I helped them to achieve high reading scores. I am a big advocate for using flashcards, blending words, and sounding out words phonetically along with many other tutoring methods. I have seen the student's enthusiasm and self confidence in their ability to learn to increase after I tutored them. I specialize in achieving results by tailoring my methods to each person I teach. I am very patient and teach in a simplistic manner.
I have been a public speaker since I was a teenager. I am still thriving in this arena as a woman in her thirties. I travel locally and nationally to speak. I have received A's in all of the public speaking classes I have taken. I believe that first a public speaker must learn his or her audience. Also, a speaker must grab the audience's attention. These are just a couple of tips I use to help others with public speaking.
I began my college career as a psychology major before I transitioned to a seminary. I took three years of pre-med psychology coursework. I received high grades in my psychology classes. I have even supplemented my academia with on the job experience at a mental health outpatient center.
