Hi,
My background is in the field of history. I graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in History, and went on to graduate school at George Washington University. I recently graduated with a Master's in American Studies. During my residence in Washington, DC I worked at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History (NMAH). I conducted a variety of historical research in graduate school and at the Smithsonian, my most interesting assignment was a study of chocolate in American history.
In addition to my history experience, I have tutored elementary school children in literacy (reading, writing, phonics, and vocabulary) at Washington, DC public schools. I have passed the GACE (Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators) in world history and psychology for middle and high school age students.
I provide an interactive learning experience that will help students connect to the material and the lessons. My specific methods will vary according to the student's needs and learning styles.
Looking forward to working with you!!
