I am a PhD-level scientist trained in doctoral and biotechnology research which have provided me a foundation to share my knowledge in the life sciences: biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, neurobiology and chemistry. For the past 20 years I have worked with many undergraduates,work-study students and post-doctoral fellows in a mentor and tutoring relationship. Either working in the lab or classroom I apply my practical knowledge of proteins, cells and molecular pathways to the learning process. My teaching process is fluid and involves materials from textbooks, internet databases, biotechnology websites and molecular modeling software that are used in contemporary life science classrooms and academic settings. I have worked in all sectors of scientific workplaces: university, industry and government which gives me a global perspective on the training that employers find attractive for graduating students. I am published in several biochemistry and microbiology journals and have given numerous seminar series through my career. I enjoy interaction with students and relish the opportunity to help students understand life science concepts and apply them to tests and practical classroom and laboratory practicums.
